Manager IT Applications - Retail - CUB Foods

Manages the IT application team and landscape for Cub Foods Holdings LLC. Working with business teams, selects, implements, and supports the applications required to meet business functional needs.  Leads team of project managers, software engineers and business systems analyst and provides direction and development.  Keeps current with retail landscape, looking for solutions that align with Cub’s strategic objectives and are in line with the overall cost structure required.  Ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and provide the business the means of achieving the solution ROI objectives.  Oversees design and implementation of changes to the environment.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Oversee IT application landscape to include any application managed services partners.
  • Select software solutions and solution providers as needed to achieve business goals
  • Responsible for managing application solution partners.
  • Negotiates IT application services and application Managed Services agreements.
  • Responsible for successful and sustainable implementation of application solutions.
  • Manages contract resources for project work, negotiating cost and ensuring work product aligns with the need and Cub standards
  • Evaluation of vendors, services, and costs to ensure Cub has the right solutionin place commensurate with the Cub strategy and cost model
  • Researches and keeps up with retail industry trends and technology shifts to ensure Cub remains competitive with the technology
  • Able to handle and lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Provide direction and leadership to IT staff
  • Mentor and develop IT staff
  • Works effectively and collaboratively with business leaders to gain alignment on priorities and options
  • Communicates issues and reports to management and takes action as appropriate
  • Develops and continuously improves app/dev and PM processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Develop and uphold application development standards including requisite process and artifact management for project management, requirements, and engineering standards, to include the SDLC
Job Requirements

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science or related field preferred
  • 5+ Years experience in application development
  • 2+ years experience IT leadership
  • Preferred previous experience implementing ERP systems
  • Previous experience implementing SaaS and Vendor Hosted solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess high degree of initiative, creative, innovative, proactive skills and abilities
  • Good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships at all levels of the company and in the business community
  • Good project management, leadership and supervisory skills
  • High level of analytical and financial skills
  • Possess the ability to create and make management presentations
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Physical Environment
  • Most work is performed in a temperature controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
  • Position may require travel
