Job Overview: 

This position will develop, design, and create tools, reporting & processes to measure and provide key insights through analytics to guide adherence to contractual policies. Responsible for the documentation and tracking of deficiencies identified while outlining the course of action required to accurately align to the language contained in an agreement, or the policy not being adhered to. Develops management action plans to drive closure of required cross-functional actions with a primary focus on ensuring UNFI’s revenue and margin is optimized per the contractual language.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

  • Maintains the Company's professional reputation, both internally and externally, applying significant focus on applying appropriate levels of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for auditing the internal and external compliance to customer contractual agreements. Identifies potential risks and/or deficiencies within existing contract agreements, providing insight & visibility to Sales leadership and Legal.
  • Communicates corrective action plans, inclusive of but not limited to, renegotiation needs and required changes to customer pricing or rebate structures, to Sales leadership, Legal, and Internal Audits based on findings.
  • Identifies and presents audit opportunities to management, that provide increased visibility into areas of potential or perceived risk, to maximize benefit to the organization and internal teams.
  • Designs and executes audits that focus on business system configurations that influence customer pricing, allowances, rebates, upcharges, minimum order size, promotional passthrough and volume minimums.
  • Lead for customer discounting projects related to the monitoring of volume discount and/or CDP program eligibility; key contributor to solutioning and mapping of discount programs related to everyday price.
  • Partners with internal departments such as Finance Shared Services, Supplier Management, Merchandising, Purchasing, IT, Sales, Legal, and Customer Experience teams to validate audit findings, perform research, and resolve issues surfaced through audit activities.
  • Identifies and presents opportunities to maximize gross margin profit, monitor areas of potential risk, and enhance the efficiency of existing processes. Creates and maintains key metrics, leadership dashboards and result tracking of compliance findings.
  • Audits the compliance of non-contractual customers to UNFI standard guidelines and programs. 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, marketing, business, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience, with proven success in complex business opportunities.
  • Experience with SQL; Power BI preferred.
  • Strong Strategic Planning, Financial and Operations / Business Background. Not purely financial background.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills (numerical, verbal). Financial modeling experience.
  • Project Management experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Teams, and other related applications.
  • Self-driven and very motivated. Comfortable working in a chaotic environment and working with constantly changing priorities.
  • Leads and directs the work of others across the company, without direct organizational line of authority.
  • Excellent organizational and relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering solutions to complex business opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, diplomacy, and judgment.
  • Strong teamwork ethic, positive proactive flexible attitude ability to take complete ownership of responsibilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints as well as handle several tasks simultaneously required.
  • Ability to create complex queries to support AdHoc reporting and database design.
