Job Overview:
To control the flow of trailers on
the yard safely and accurately.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inventory trailers on the lot as necessary and move
trailers to and from the clean-off area.
- Move and stage trailers in response to needs of the
warehouse operations.
- Ensure that dropped trailers are parked in the proper
designated areas.
- Supply the warehouse operations with trailers for
loading adhering to specific requirements from retailers.
- Dock back haul trailers as needed for the warehouse
operations.
- Maintain proper trailer temperatures for refrigeration
units at all times.
- Monitor trailer temperatures of perishable back haul
trailers.
- Dead line trailers due to mechanical problems and
notify the appropriate personnel for resolution.
Job Requirements:
- GED or High School Diploma.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- CDL license with a minimum of six months of
over-the-road driving experience and/or spotter experience.
- Experience with dock setup reports and completing
status reports during work shift.
- Be able to occasionally lift, push, pull and carry
product to reposition on trailers.
- Handle exposure to extreme temperatures of -20 degrees
to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Be able to stoop, bend, twist, and reach as required.
