Job Overview:

Responsible for leading the compensation programs, process and policies to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the Compensation function. Supports assigned business units’ compensation needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides compensation expertise and relationship management with HR and other line management for assigned business units.
  • Conducts job evaluations within assigned business units in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness and legal compliance of the organization’s pay practices
  • Support the implementation of salary administration procedures, authorization and process and ensures effective administration of special compensation plans. 
  • Participate in and analyze results of salary surveys to determine organization’s market relationship. Analyze competitive salary data to support pay decisions and recommendations.
  • Responsible for preparation of cost analysis and forecasting associated with pay adjustments or pay program initiatives 
  • Support HR field as it relates to state and federal employment regulations, compensation policies, and classification programs.
  • Coordinates delivery of special compensation programs (i.e. short-term incentive administration, long-term incentives, recognition, etc.) for assigned business units.
  • Partner with HRIS to improve effectiveness of compensation administration and analysis, ensuring data integrity and accurate and timely use of information for management review
  • Assist in the development and updating of operating policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Serve on project teams such as merit planning, performance management and bonus planning
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in finance or Human Resources or related experience;
  • CCP, CEBS, or PHR a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of compensation and performance management practices/trends.
  • Thorough knowledge of all state and federal regulations related to compensation decisions as well as record keeping requirements
  • Proven planning, organizing, and leadership skills.
  • Possess research, analysis and assessment abilities.
  • Creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills as demonstrated through the ability to draw conclusions, themes and trends from data analysis.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and accuracy as well as understand the strategic impact of compensation decisions on the organization
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and formulas, etc. required as well as experience with HRIS systems; Peoplesoft a plus
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
  • Some travel may be required
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. 
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
