Job Overview: 

Increase UNFI sales by offering a professional retail store design fixture plan to an independent grocery client.   The Store Planner’s role is to capture the client’s vision through creative concept planning process and then deliver a final tag fixture plan with equipment schedule that provides a competitive advantage over the competition.    This position will be responsibility for designing 25 - 35 new and remodel projects annually and generating professional services fees for the work being done.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

  • Develop new and remodel store fixture plans using AutoCAD and/or Revit software, ensuring store layout meets client’s standards and requirements. Work collaboratively with project management, equipment sourcing, space planning team and regional merchandisers to create concept plans that will deliver on client’s vision and meet the operational requirements for the business.
  • Conduct store design meetings via online with clients to present design ideas and changes.   Effectively communicate with clients on the status of the design path.
  • Responsible for broad communication with all internal and external stakeholders on fixture plan changes and updates.
  • Manage multiple projects at different phases in the design process. Support the development of AutoCAD equipment schedules and requirement drawings for electrical and mechanical equipment specifications.
  • Effectively establish relationships with new and existing client’s that are assigned.
  • Establish/manage timelines and meet deadlines appropriately. Work independently or as a team to meet the client’s request.
  • Maintain a high-level attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain communication with management, keeping all abreast of schedules, planning issues, etc. utilizing Salesforce.com tool.
  • Responsible at times to conduct a site visit to produce an as-built drawing of existing conditions.
  • Work closely with the equipment team to establish and maintain equipment standards for implementation into fixture plan development.
  • Manage the entering of time allocation per project into the tracking software for billings. Accountable to track time billed per the proposal submitted to the client for services.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in design related field preferred.
  • 3+ years related experience.
  • AutoCAD experience for retail planning and design required. Retail design, food service or merchandising experience a plus. Revit experience preferred.
  • Merchandising or retail operations knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presenationat skills.
  • Good Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Some travel may be required.
