Visual Merchandiser
PURPOSE:
Partner with assigned customers to provide quality service efficiently while achieving maximum sales and keeping cost controlled.

Predominantly working within one of our major retail customers in the territory. May work within other customers as needed, in the greater Eastern PA region (Harrisburg, Lancaster, Philadelphia).

Most work performed Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.

Minimal over-nights estimated 10%.

Corporate Credit Card to pay for hotels and meals. Mileage re-imbursement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Timely travel from account to account for new store openings, resets, stocking and rotating product.

Responsible for effectively displaying store products.
-
Responsible for maintaining effective business relationships with customers.
-
Process merchandise returns and issue credits according to company policy.

Ensure the neat and orderly appearance of UNFI products.

Assist in hanging shelf tags.

Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.

Follow through on customer product requests.

Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.

Attend meetings as required.

Provides backup for other merchandisers or sales reps when needed.

Responsible for other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certification:
-
High school graduate or equivalent related experience.
-
Valid driver's license necessary.
-
Auto insurance levels that meet state requirements.
Experience:
-
Prior customer service experience in a retail setting.
Skills/Abilities:
-
Excellent customer service skills.
-
Good communication skills.
-
Time management skills and attention to detail.
-
Basic math abilities.
-
Ability to work independently.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
-
90% weekly travel/overnights required.

Ability to get in and out of car multiple times per day.
-
Drive to and from accounts safely in city, rural and expressway conditions.

Ability to set up displays, fixtures, shelving and products.
-
Able to tolerate exposure to store and warehouse conditions including wide variances in temperature, dust and dirt.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $1,000 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
