Overview: As a valued member of our team, you'll specialize in performing intricate repairs on tractors, trailers, and yard tractors. Your keen eye will identify and monitor issues, providing expert recommendations for repair or replacement.

  • Pay - $28.80/h
  • Schedule – 10 hour . 11pm- 9 am Sunday - Wednesday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute preventive maintenance, inspections, and general repairs with precision.
  • Conduct diagnostics and repairs on air and hydraulic brake systems, including ABS systems.
  • Handle electrical diagnostics and repairs with proficiency.
  • Diagnose and repair liftgate systems, welding and fabricating as necessary.
  • Address driveline, steering, and suspension issues effectively.
  • Ensure accurate repair order entry and maintain time accountability in the RTA Maintenance Program.
  • Charge all parts to repair orders for seamless operations.
  • Perform tire and wheel end maintenance as required.
  • Deliver high-quality work while maintaining efficient production levels.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior mechanics, fostering their growth and development.
  • Fulfill other pertinent job duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Preferably possess 2 years of mechanical experience in a related field or have undergone technical training along with 1 year of experience.
  • Equipped with all necessary hand tools for the job.
  • Previous experience in driving/moving Class A equipment is advantageous.
  • Certifications in tire and wheel, brakes, HVAC, and FHWA DOT inspections are desirable.
  • Proficient in repairing brakes, rear doors, air systems, and electrical systems with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to excel both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Environment/Requirements:

  • Navigate a variety of physical tasks, including standing, sitting, using hands, reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Lift up to 75 pounds and perform frequent movements such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning.
  • Adapt to temperatures ranging from 20 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in shop operations.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity, coordination, and balance for work both at ground level and in elevated areas.
  • Utilize specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Después del periodo inicial, por tratarse de un puesto basado totalmente en comisiones, no hay un salario fijo. Los planes de comisiones de UNFI no tienen tope y las ganancias promedio dependen del territorio y de las ventas logradas, entre otros factores.
