Job Overview:

The Brand Marketing Associate will support the Brands+ Brand Management team in various aspects of promoting our core Brands. Responsibilities will include Brand Business Analytics, Communications Support, Customer/Tradeshow Support, Sales Support, and Project Management. This role provides a valuable opportunity to learn and contribute to the Brand Management function. They are responsible for working cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Operations, Merchandising, Product Development, Product Business Management, and Finance to meet goals and attain metrics.

Job Responsibilities:

Brand Business Analytics (25%)

• Develop insights based on ad hoc analyses utilizing Nielsen’s syndicated data. These will include but are not limited to Brand and category sales trends.

• Provide insights based on household panel (Nielsen Consumer Facts) data for brand management, sales ops, and sales.

• Provide insight on promotion timing, pricing, and tactics to improve sales for the brand. Identify what is working at a retailer and what is not and provide recommendations on how to improve performance. Able to do assortment analysis to recommend the optimal assortment a retailer should carry.

• Analyze syndicated data and use this data to help create selling presentations. Actively support line reviews and customer category reviews.

• Provide time-based analytics of Brands+ brand performance, including changes in category, customer, market, and item performance.

• Analyze data to determine the “why” behind performance and generate real-time actionable recommendations to achieve brand goals.

• Contribute to monthly and annual forecasting based on sales trends and market input.

Project Management (25%)

• Complete new item set-up forms outlining attributes for products ready for launch.

• Create and manage project timelines and workflow for all marketing materials and customer marketing materials while adhering to workflow processes to ensure project deadlines are met.

• Contribute to elements of marketing plan execution.

• Ensure product images, product descriptions, and all other relevant content for new products are uploaded to Salsify.

• Work with the digital/salsify team to problem solve and fix any bottlenecks in the web publishing process.

• Support the information gathering, and product tracking for international product sales.

Sales Materials Support (20%)

• Assist in the development of category business reviews collecting information such as competitor insights, SKU details, and product images.

• Develop sales category reviews, brand overviews, and new item selling material including PPT presentations and sell sheets.

• Proof all marketing materials including sell sheets, presentations, and internal communication to ensure accuracy and make recommendations for revisions as needed.

• Coordinate ad hoc requests to develop custom marketing materials such as presentations, flyers,POS, etc for key customers (priority may vary depending on the ask).

Brand Tracking (10%)

• Guides Run, distribute, and continuously improve weekly tracking reports utilizing Nielsen syndicated data (NIQ Discover).

• Track and measure the performance of Brands+ marketing initiatives using internal analytics and syndicated data.

Communications Support (10%)

• Provide information monthly on new items (UPC data, high-level insights, and DC availability) to be published in UNFI’s publications (e.g. New & Now, Destination Fresh, TGIF).

• Contribute to Public relations programs for Brands+ and submit sample requests for PR, ensuring the product arrives on time for publication.

Customer / Tradeshow Support (10%)

• Create and manage detailed tradeshow tracker outlining all deliverables for Brands+ tradeshows.

• Coordinate meetings to discuss all tradeshow execution and receive updates from each party ensuring deliverables are hitting deadlines.

• Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business preferred or equivalent related experience and training.

Experience:

• 3+ years related experience in marketing.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

• Excellent oral, written communication, and excellent interpersonal skills.
