JOB OVERVIEW:

The Accounting Governance Senior Analyst position will assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s internal controls to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. This position will report to the Accounting Governance and Controls Supervisor and work closely with the Senior Director of Enterprise Risk and Controls coordinating with Internal Audit, Accounting, and Operational teams on a variety of accounting governance initiatives. This position may also provide finance support, where appropriate, for varied operational initiatives and special projects. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILTIES:

  • Perform process walkthrough to obtain a working knowledge of processes in place and be able to identify key controls to address risks in internal control over financial reporting.
  • Perform evaluation of the design and effectiveness of internal controls to ensure the Company’s compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2022.
  • Documentation and coordination of process narratives and control testing.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to provide applicable information for annual audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Prepare schedules in support of the audits of financial statements.
  • Coordinate and perform special projects, as assigned.
  • Performs other relevant job duties as required. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or equivalent related field
  • CPA Certification or interested in pursuing (preferred)
  • 2+ years of accounting or auditing experience
  • 2-5 years of public accounting (big four experience preferred) and/or private experience in accounting or internal controls roles
  •  Availability to travel up to 10% throughout the year.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
