PURPOSE:
Development and implementation of fair, reasonable, and attainable performance standards for all direct functions in DC
operations. Educate all DC front-line operations leadership to ensure knowledge and understanding of proper and 
consistent standards application. Partner with DC operation teams and process engineering team to identify areas for 
continuous improvement. Resolve LM issues via collaboration between LM vendor(s), UNFI IT, and Process Excellence 
Engineering Team.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Partner with DC operations leadership to drive safety, quality, productivity, utilization, and efficiency of the work force.
• Deploy Manhattan Active Labor Management to include business requirements identification, configuration, testing, 
user acceptance, operational readiness, go-live execution, hyper-support, and post implementation support for inventory 
management, warehouse management, regulatory compliance, unionized site support, and customer-facing 
requirements.
• Perform time study analysis and summary reporting; ability to calculate performance by element and overall 
performance for both associate and overall sample group.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on return-on-investment calculations.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and develop, analyze, and present solutions.
• Maintain accuracy of DC layout utilizing AutoCAD.
• Assessment and maintenance of Engineered Labor Standards (ELS) and/or Reasonable Expectations (RE) in UNFI DC
network for accuracy.
• Train front-line operations leadership and hourly associates on prescribed methods based on Standard Operating 
Procedures (SOPs).
• Utilize reporting such as SCI IBM Cognos, Blue Yonder, and BI Dashboards to identify gaps in performance to standard. 
• Understanding of connections between ELS flowcharts to finalize SOP.
• Utilize a standardized approach to Labor Management Systems (LMS and LMS Engineered Labor Standard (ELS) 
maintenance.
• Responsible for LMS design, configuration, and testing.
• Perform LMS system integration testing, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to achieve the desired results.
• Support LMS in accordance with documented SOPs/PWIs.
• Improve and monitor reporting accuracy for ELS reports and dashboards, i.e. SCI, Power BI, Databricks
• Assist in the development and implementation of Engineering Labor Standards to continually improve LMS and 
performance reporting. Document all required ELS modifications and/or design in UNFI LMS
• Record processes related to LMS conversions and upgrades through tool creation and SOPs.
• Performs other relevant job duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• MOST certification preferred.
Experience: 
• 1-2 years of engineering work experience.
• Distribution or Supply Chain experience preferred.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and engagement skills.
• High competency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Takes initiative and high responsive, attentive internal customer service skills to effectively support operations.
• High capacity to learn, adapt, and be agile in transformational change environments and scenarios.
• Ability to work effectively and collectively in a team environment.

• Support an environment of learning and teaching in the operation.
• AutoCAD, UMTPlus, Manhattan, Blue Yonder (Red Prairie), SQL, and Java knowledge preferred. 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS:
Travel required up to 50%
• Travel will be required.
• 60% of work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
• 40% of work is exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation 
and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk behind powered industrial equipment, and 
stand for long periods of time.
• Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday.
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
