PURPOSE: The Procurement Trainer is responsible for improving the productivity of the Procurement team through an effective and complete system training program. This person is responsible for effective development coordination and delivery of training for procurement systems currently in place and those to follow. This person is also responsible for being a go-to for the new hire to help facilitate training that may be process vs. systems oriented. |
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: · Develop, manage, and deliver training programs for new and existing Procurement team members. · Help manage and schedule new hire training programs and track their completion. · Customize and facilitate learning using various instructional tools and techniques, including self-paced, classroom and webinar instruction. · Demonstrate acumen with respect to each line of business within UNFI. · Utilize current UNFI business and strategic knowledge to propose learning priorities. · Accelerate the development of robust purchasing talent pools as specified by the UNFI succession Plan. · Explore new ideas for improved workflow · Work with Procurement Management to enhance the competencies of the current teams and aid in the training of the new hires. · Track the process and completion of training. · Develop methods for evaluation of program effectiveness. · Create new or edit existing SOPs for Procurement tasks. · Participate in SOP creation, communication, and training for implementation of future system enhancements. · Train associates any updates or enhancement of the system(s). · Perform other job duties as required. |
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred) · Bachelor’s degree in business or related field Experience: · Prior management level experience designing and delivering learning programs for Procurement · 3-5 years related experience · Prior experience in a leadership role · System Implementation preferred · Skills/ Abilities: · Organizational Agility: Cross Functional Project Planning and delivery. · Cultivating relationships with external partners. · Developing and executing multiple projects in parallel. · Innovative systems design, configuration, and delivery. · Cultivating influence and credibility. · Manage classroom environment, analyze results, and identify gaps in training needs, be it systems or process oriented. · Conduct needs analysis to ensure that training fulfills the needs and objectives of the Procurement team · Partner with Subject Matter Experts to create and revise departmental procedures needed to aid not only the new hire but the department. · Contribute to the overall success of the new hire training to help identify ways to continuously improve the learning process. · Strong writing skills, attention to detail and capacity to develop quality training material. · Proficient in time management, organization, planning and prioritization. · Explore new ideas for improved workflow. · Proven initiative, positive attitude, team oriented, self-motivated. · Ability to manage changing priorities and adapt to changing business environment. · Ability to travel. |

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
