Job Overview:

The Intelligent Automation Strategist is responsible for driving the discovery, qualification, and strategic alignment of automation initiatives across the enterprise. This role operates at the intersection of business transformation, technology enablement, and stakeholder collaboration, and plays a pivotal part in scaling Automation Anywhere A360, AI/GenAI, and process re-engineering initiatives within the Intelligent Automation program. This role acts as a trusted advisor across business units, ensuring automation investments are aligned with enterprise objectives and deliver tangible outcomes in efficiency, compliance, and user experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Identification & Business Engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Operations, Finance, HR, Sales, and Supply Chain) to identify automation use cases that reduce manual effort, eliminate waste, and unlock value.
  • Facilitate automation discovery workshops, assess process suitability, and document business requirements using standardized templates and frameworks.
  • Establish pipeline generation process leveraging tools Process Mining (Celonis/Signavio).
  • Solution Design & Value Assessment
  • Work closely with Automation Architects and Developers to translate business requirements into scalable automation solutions.
  • Lead business case development including ROI, effort vs. impact analysis, and KPI tracking models.
  • Ensure automation proposals are evaluated for feasibility, risk, and alignment with strategic priorities.

Program Delivery & Governance

  • Partner with the Automation CoE, Platform Team, and Business Owners to manage lifecycle from idea intake through implementation.
  • Drive agile sprint planning for in-scope use cases and monitor delivery progress and outcomes.
  • Prepare and present status updates, value realization reports, and dashboards for leadership.
  • Thought Leadership & Change Management
  • Evangelize intelligent automation through storytelling, internal showcases, and success narratives.
  • Support organizational change by engaging business SMEs and promoting citizen development where appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends in RPA, AI Agents, GenAI orchestration, and intelligent document processing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar process improvement certification preferred

Experience:

  • 10+ years of overall experience in IT Consulting, Business Process Management, or Digital Transformation,
  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in RPA/Intelligent Automation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise engagements or CoEs in one or more RPA platforms (preferably Automation Anywhere A360).
  • Proficiency with process documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio), and comfort with data-driven decision-making.

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

  • Excellent communication and executive presence; ability to influence senior stakeholders across IT and Business.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to assess process improvement potential across domains like Finance, Supply Chain, and Shared Services.
  • Familiarity with GenAI integration, conversational AI (chatbots/virtual agents), and API-led automation.
  • Knowledge in process mining (Celonis/Signavio)
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

  • This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
