Position: Outside Sales Representative (Temporary Part Time)
Location and Territory: Victoria, B.C. (Vancouver Island)
Job Type: Contract (6 months) - PLEASE NOTE: due to contract, this role does not include benefits.
Schedule: Part Time 3 days per week
Language Requirements: English
Expected Compensation: $26.00/hour
Purpose:
To cover designated territory (Victoria, BC) developing potential customers and maintaining existing customers at projected sales levels.
Job Responsibilities:
- Time and territory management to accomplish daily, weekly and monthly sales goals including defining market demographics, competitor analysis, prospecting new business and existing account knowledge.
- Participate with UNFI Sales team to effectively maintain existing accounts, develop new business and address operational issues.
- Provide accurate and complete sales reports to Sales Manager in a timely manner.
- Submit appropriate and timely account information for all new and existing accounts for input into the UNFI information system.
- Participate in continuing education programs regarding company products, services and industry compliances.
- Document and resolve customer complaints.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Post-Secondary education and/or equivalent related experience and training.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent.
Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Sales.
- Adequate knowledge of related computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience:
- Previous sales experience in a B2B setting preferred.
- Previous experience in the organic/natural Consumer Packaged Goods sales is an asset.
- Computer experience preferred (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Goal oriented self-starter with high energy level and competitive spirit.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned area.

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
