JOB OVERVIEW

The Labor Relations Analyst provides research, audit, analysis, and the administration of the compensation terms of UNFIs collective bargaining agreements. This work includes, but is not limited to, contractual terms reviews, compliance reporting and continuous improvement projects specific to collective bargaining agreement administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support key team processes relating to collective bargaining and contract management, including the use of company systems such as PeopleSoft.
  • Support labor relations matters relating to Taft-Hartley health plans and multi-employer pension plans, including correspondence and communication with third-party plan administrators, the company’s actuaries and the company’s accounting team.
  • Serve as primary support for audit process with Taft-Hartley health plans and multi-employer pension plans, partnering with LR and Legal teams to provide responsive data and review auditor findings.
  • Leads small to mid-sized continuous improvement projects.
  • Help coordinate implementation of contract terms in HRIS systems, payroll, etc.
  • Analyzes data for accuracy/completeness, identifies any issues/discrepancies, and updates process documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, HR, or related field.

Experience: 

  • 0-2 years of professional experience required.
  • Experience in human resources, shared services or finance role requiring analytical thought and working with large data sets.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to handle sensitive and highly confidential information.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Visualization), database and word-processing programs required.
  • Experience with HRIS Systems and PeopleSoft are a plus.
  • Exceptional quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy and details.
  • Comfortable analyzing and reporting data, with the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable with change and shifting priorities.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally.
  • Dedicated learners with a natural curiosity for consistent growth.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced ever-changing, deadline-driven environment.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

WORK ENVIORNMENT

Remote Role:

  • This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

PHYSICAL ENVIORNMENT/DEMANDS

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbents may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbents may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment during a normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
