JOB OVERVIEW:
Supervises daily maintenance and/or sanitation activities using the most efficient and economical ways of maintaining the equipment, minimizing down time and keeping warehouse operations running efficiently.

Our Warehouse Supervisor team oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring that goods are stored, handled, and dispatched efficiently. They are responsible for leading and motivating a fast-paced team, optimizing processes, maintaining safety standards, ensuring inventory accuracy, and utilizing WMS systems for reporting and order management. This role involves coordinating with other departments, overseeing shipping, and receiving activities, and implementing strategies for inventory control. Warehouse Supervisors also ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facility/Equipment Maintenance & Sanitation:
• Directs and supervises the work of Facility/Equipment Maintenance Mechanics, Sanitation Associates and third-party contractors in the areas of Building & Grounds, MHE, HVAC, Refrigeration and Sanitation.
• Ensures that company, federal, state and local guidelines and regulations regarding facility maintenance and sanitation are met daily. (OSHA, FSQA)
• Coordinates/facilitates training of Facility/Equipment Maintenance Mechanics & Sanitation Associates.
• Ensures that preventative maintenance procedures are in effect and being performed in a timely manner.
• Coordinates, monitors and generates planned, emergency, and routine facility/equipment maintenance and sanitation job tasks using a computerized maintenance program.
• Facilitates inspections as necessary.
• Verifies work orders to ensure that they are properly prepared and completed to quality standards and verifies correct safety and regulatory procedures are followed.
• Maintains work order and job task logs, preparing reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Orders parts, supplies and/or tools to accomplish all jobs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• College or trade school degree desirable and/or equivalent work experience in the areas of electrical, mechanical, HVAC and/or ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Working knowledge in using computer systems and software for communication, record-keeping, documentation and scheduling of maintenance tasks and inventories. Word processing, spreadsheet, warehouse maintenance applications preferred.
• Possess the ability to identify problems, analyze situations, and develop effective solutions.
• Possess the ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
• Possess strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule when needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to be available for on-call duties during emergencies.
PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Must be able to effectively lead and supervise 7-9 Maintenance Mechanics & 10-15 Sanitation Associates (Scheduling, Training, Coaching - Constructive & Corrective, Professional Development, Team Building)
• Must be able to lead, motivate, cooperate and effectively communicate within a diverse team and across multiple departments to achieve desired results.
• Must be able to communicate and coordinate with external customers and third-party contractors.
• Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, in person and over the phone.

Onsite Role:
This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
• Most work is performed in typical warehouse conditions. (Refrigerated and non-Temperature controlled) During most of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor where potential hazards exist regarding machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
• Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between –20 degrees to 70 degrees.
• Noise levels in all areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges for those specific work areas.
• May sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
• Incumbent will use calculators, keyboards, telephones, printers, scanners and other office equipment in the course of the workday.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
