Purpose: 

The primary function of the Retail Marketing Specialist is to coordinate advertising and marketing materials for retailers and internal customers including the weekly ad, digital services, special projects and more. Also prepare billing information for accounting and other support tasks.

Job Responsibilities:

·       Coordinate with Retail Marketing account manager’s digital team, other departments, and retailers. Operate as a liaison with key contacts for Merchandising, Marketing team, Sales and Promotions, retailers, and others to guarantee all events are integrated successfully

·       Manage and execute programs to support retailer advertising needs and internal needs. Ensure accuracy: all marketing materials and reports are accurately proofed. Coordinate and manage retailer’s ad program with strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy before finalizing projects

·       Coordinate and manage marketing materials (such as flyers, POP, mailers, coupons, brochures etc.) for internal and external customers

·       Provide creative direction, objectives and timelines to all parties as needed

·       Provide strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various departments including printers, vendors, and retailers

·       Initiate, monitor, and close jobs ensuring all charges are captured and then forwarded to accounting for billing and payment

·       Assist in onboarding websites and other digital projects as needed

·       Coordinate meetings and communication materials as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or business-related field

Experience:

·       0-2 years relevant experience

·       Experience in traditional and digital marketing preferred

·       Experience in customer service preferred

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

·       Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office/365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

·       Knowledge of the printing business to include layout, balance, design, copywriting, printing processes, and print distribution preferred

·       Knowledge in different digital medias such as ecommerce, loyalty, websites, and social media preferred

·       Comfortable working with multiple teams and vendors to implement marketing programs

·       Flexible and adaptable to learning and understanding modern technologies

·       Ability to work in geographically dispersed teams

·       Strong human relations, and people skills are essential to work well with others across all functional areas

·       Customer service ability to manage customers and vendors in a professional manner in all levels of organization

·       Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines while working under pressure

·       History of applying effective critical thinking skills

·       Proven professional, effective verbal and written communication skills

·       Knowledge of CRM platform such as Salesforce preferred

·       Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

·       Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

·       Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.

·       While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  

·       Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.

·       Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.

Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
