Job Overview: 
As the key finance business partner, the Senior Manager will liaise as necessary within and across functional areas to lead business analytics, Commercial Finance, Forecasting and Reporting for the area of Customer Value Creation. This role will be responsible for extending this support across other business areas as operational business processes change.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work cross functionally across varying levels in the organization to enhance capabilities for identification and prioritization of value-added Commercial initiatives. 
  • Provide timely strategic opinions, shaped by in depth understanding of the functional business operations and value initiatives, enabling data backed decision making. 
  • Establish a strong accountability framework, translated from budgeting/forecasts into actionable KPIs and operationally allocated metrics. Provide customer centric operation reporting and daily standard work to provide timely visibility to business performance.
  • Lead, execute and own the annual budget process for the customer value creation areas. This includes identifying and validating budget drivers, scenario planning and influencing across the organization to ensure alignment that budgets represent business objective, highlights areas of risks and opportunities as appropriate.
  • Deliver periodic forecast updates for applicable areas based on Commercial and Operational proximity to cross functional teams. Adhering to timelines.
  • Lead and partner on the workstream to quantify value added initiative achievement on a weekly basis for pacing and prioritization purposes.
  • Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly operating review materials. Work with senior leaders to provide value-added commentary on results, enabling swift and accurate decision-making and problem solving. Reviews should focus on operational/financial performance metrics, result and trends, but also recommendations for counter measures.
  • Assist the business in aligning strategic plans as applicable to the specific business area to execute the company’s short and long-term goals.
  • Conduct organizational and process reviews to identify operational effectiveness and efficiency opportunities and facilitate the creation and implementation of actionable plans to close gaps.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 


Education/ Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

    Experience: 
  • 7-10 years of experience in financial and/or business analytic positions.
  • Strong strategic planning, financial and operations / business background. Purely financial background not required.
  • Demonstrated success in business partnership as well as leading and delivering solutions to complex business opportunities .
  • Financial modeling and analytic experience.
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience preferred.
  • Finance systems usage & implementation (UFIN) experience preferred .

    Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
     
  • Outstanding analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Must be self-driven and motivated.
  • Must be comfortable working in a chaotic environment and working with constantly changing priorities.
  • Leads and directs the work of others across the company, without direct organizational line of authority.
  • Strong administrative, organizational and relationship skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills are required .
  • Position also requires strong interpersonal skills, discretion, diplomacy, and judgment.
  • Strong teamwork ethic, positive proactive flexible attitude ability to take complete ownership of responsibilities.
    Ability to work under pressure and time constraints as well as handling several tasks simultaneously required.
  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and related software applications.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment: 
Remote Role: This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.


Travel (minor): This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.
