Job Overview:
The Value Delivery Project Manager Sr is responsible for leading the strategic transformation programs and initiatives for the company from initiation through completion. This role will be a part of a highly reliable and effective Value Delivery Office and the multiple large, multifaceted programs and initiatives being supported and/or led by this office. This role will contribute to driving measurable outcomes within the UNFI strategic plan. As a project manager, he/she is responsible to define and deliver a strategic project/initiative within the agreed budget, scope and timelines and manages issues and risks through the project lifecycle. The Sr. Program Manager is responsible for articulating project status and managing expectations as well as for working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve agreed project objectives, milestones and deliverables and ensure implemented solutions are of quality.
Job Responsibilities:
Manages project execution full cycle, including budget, schedule, scope, and risk.
Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Manages project life cycle by applying effective project methodology and enforcing project standards.
Manages, resolves, and escalates, as appropriate, issues to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Develop and manage work breakdown structures of projects.
Develop implementation plans that include cost-benefits or ROI.
Communicates with stakeholders and updates project sponsors on the progress of projects and plans, including negotiations with project stakeholders or suppliers to obtain resources.
Supports the coordination of project teams/personnel.
Minimizes exposure and risk on the project and ensures appropriate action.
Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Guides and coaches project team members on best practices and supports the adherence to processes and procedures through coaching and feedback to other project managers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent professional business experience
PMP Certification and/or prior experience with various methodology of project management
Experience:
8 or more years’ experience of program, project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches
Demonstrated experience with capability-building efforts
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:
Advanced Project Management skillsets and abilities that allow for assignment of advanced projects directly impacting strategic initiatives
Ability working in project management software
Advanced ability to analyze situations and evaluate the best solution to solve problems
Outstanding leadership and communication skills. Collaborative work style.
Demonstrated project management and implementation success. Strong organization skills.
Ability to multi-task and arbitrate between conflicting priorities with clear target setting and follow-through capability in a fast-paced work environment.
Effective communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with reporting teams, stakeholders, and executives.
In-depth knowledge of program and project plan development and management, scheduling methodology, agile methodologies, program and project metrics, analysis, and status reporting.
Work Environment:
Remote Role:
This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
Travel (minor):
This position may require the associate to travel up to 25% to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
