Job Overview:  

The Clinical Services Manager is responsible for ensuring that Cub Pharmacy integrated and non-integrated clinical services performed by pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other health care providers involved in administration of said clinical services are performed following industry best practices. The individual serves as a key liaison between the pharmacy department and Cub Foods/UNFI marketing, accounting, finance, and other business focus areas. This individual also manages approximately 30 vendor/industry relationships for products, vaccines, and software related to execution of Clinical Programs.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to quality-based initiatives focused on patient care, outcomes, cost avoidance, and reduction.

  • Evaluate and implement innovative solutions and clinical services for community pharmacies, including margin impact assessments and contract negotiations.

  • Manage approximately 30 vendor/industry relationships and contract terms to meet business and support needs effectively.

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Negotiate optimal and competitive pricing and other contract terms with vaccine manufacturers and health related software vendors

  • Collaborate with all pharmacy departments (procurement, managed care, informatics, and compliance) where applicable to grow and strengthen Clinical Programs and the Cub Pharmacy business, overall.

  • Coordinate the production of all marketing materials for clinical programs, ensuring alignment with brand standards and messaging and representation in all corporate marketing materials.

  • Measure and report on outcomes of all clinical initiatives, providing insights to guide strategy and improvement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:  

  • Doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD) required.

  • 3-5 years of experience in providing or overseeing MTM/CMM services and/or other structured clinical services in a community pharmacy setting

  • Experience in healthcare or clinical program marketing preferred.

  • Strong communication skills; must be able to present complex information (both verbal and written) to pharmacy teams and executive leadership.

  • Ability to manage large and complex data sets to make data-driven decisions and automate key performance indicator reporting.

  • Strong understanding of community pharmacies, clinical program services, and healthcare operations.

  • Ability to reflect on current processes and procedures to recommend and implement improvements

  • Ability to work autonomously, set priorities effectively, and scope and complete projects under deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Proven ability to work with a team at all levels of staff, management and leadership in a collegial manner across multiple departments

  • Willingness to travel occasionally, as required.


Physical Requirements:  

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  

  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
