Job Overview:

Responsible for the management and execution of supplier marketing programs for all stakeholders – UNFI, Suppliers, and Retailers through collaboration with the Category Merchandising team on long-term promotional planning – the right assortment, at the right time, while exceeding revenue goals. Works with the Category Merchandising team on the development of marketing materials and planning tools. Responsible for the aggregation and analysis of annual promotional ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to program guidelines.


Job Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

  • Implementation and tracking of all long-term program promotional planning.
  • Tracks and reports program performance (revenue) against established Category Merchandising Goals.
  • Develops standard operating procedures for all marketing programs to ensure deliverables are met timely and according to program parameters and requirements.
  • Executes and manages marketing program training and materials.
  • Conducts market research and analysis to evaluate marketing program performance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Engages with internal stakeholders to gather program feedback.
  • Works in collaboration with Category Merchandising to secure promotional and marketing support from suppliers, as requested/needed.
  • Provides program performance metrics to ensure deliverables are met on all key marketing initiatives and programs.
  • Maintains professional relations with suppliers, trade professionals, and external contacts to promote a positive image of the Company. Ensures delivery of products and services exceed client expectations.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures that plans, goals, and policies are consistent with established Company-wide goals and development activities are cost-effective, efficient and within established budget constraints.
  • Develop reporting as needed/requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or related experience.

Experience:

  • 2 years of related business experience in category management, sales, purchasing, or related fields

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of natural, organic, and specialty channels is preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of marketing and go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent understanding of promotional techniques, protocols, and pricing strategies, distribution channels, and competitive set
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Solid analytical, creative and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and execute projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

  • This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

Travel (minor):

  • This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
