Job Overview:

Conduct replenishment buying of Fresh Category items, identifying potential new items, and maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with DC Sales and Fresh Category Management Teams.

Job Responsibilities:

·       Maintain regular communication with sales team members on new products, sales and marketing goals, and vendor programs.

·       Responsible for maintaining an adequate in-stock position of Fresh inventory, ensuring that inventory is turned consistently to maximize sales while minimizing loss in shrink.

·       Conduct inventory replenishment duties of Fresh inventory for designated distribution center(s).

·       Conduct data entry into the purchasing system for pricing, promotions, and other activities.

·       Establish a network of colleagues from each division, responsible for the success of their respective programs, to collaborate and share best practices.

·       Maintain and oversee pricing and margins.

·       Develop sales and promotional materials toward top-line sales and margin growth for the DC.

·       For new product review and consideration, make recommendations to Fresh Category management to improve product lines and enhance the program.

·       Collaborate with Business Unit Manager, Sales Team, and Fresh Category Management Team on new product introductions.

·       Collaborate with Fresh Category management to regularly perform SKU rationalization analysis.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

·       High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

·       Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training and experience preferred.

Experience:

·       3-5 years of related experience in replenishment Buying.

·       Previous direct responsibility for perishables inventory management, organics, and natural products.

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

·       Competent negotiation abilities.

·       Ability to resolve issues independently or with management.

·       Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and accomplish team objectives.

·       Strong organizational and planning skills.

·       Good math skills.

·       Excellent working relationships and coordination with internal and external business partners.

·       Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and phone etiquette.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office product applications (Excel, Work, Outlook).

·       Ability to prioritize multiple requests and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

·       Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

·       This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
