Job Overview:
The Logistics Development Manager is responsible for supporting Logistics freight revenue and margin thresholds by enhancing supplier interactions, upholding pricing policies, and maintaining sourcing SOPs to implement, forecast, and measure these metrics.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting UNFI’s growth strategy by managing the achievement of Logistics Freight Revenue through team execution of freight pricing analytic execution
Responsible for managing the maintenance of freight margin thresholds in line with the Logistics strategy through team execution of margin exception freight analytics
Educates internal cross-functional teams and suppliers on UNFI’s logistics services, as well as presents strategic freight solutions, to support volume growth through mode conversion to UNFI managed
Facilitates continuous improvement conversations at all levels throughout the organization
Ensures effective communication with business partners; assists in resolving problems/issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
BS degree required. MBA/Masters preferred.
Experience:
5+ years in food distribution experience
3+ years managing and leading others
Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:
Understanding of operational model for wholesale, retail, distribution.
Knowledge of leadership and management techniques, focusing on team culture
Proven ability to develop and lead logistical analysis
Ability to build trust to foster collaboration and continuous improvement
Knowledge of Transportation Systems, network models, rate negotiations, and distribution networks
Knowledge of Transportation / Supply Chain Industry trends
Proven ability to innovate utilizing industry standard research and design methodology
Must be able to work well with internal and external partners with procurement, distribution, transportation, & carriers.
Must be able to interact effectively with associates at all levels.
Demonstrated strength in the area problem solving with strong analytical skills.
Work Environment:
Remote Role:
This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
