PURPOSE:
This position requires the employee to sort, sticker and repack products as needed and to help maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse. Assist in orienting and training new team members.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Produce packaged items in accordance with identified customer specifications.
• Rework distressed produce in accordance with company guidelines for shipment.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse, including sweeping and trash removal.
• Add/remove recycled boxes from baler machinery.
• Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Select half cases to be made (pick), label and put away (pack).
• Assist in orienting and training new team members.
• Perform all duties in accordance with HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
• Observe all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in an ethical manner and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Performs other relevant job duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Good Judgement is required for this position as there may be times immediate supervison is not available
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift and pallet jack.
Skills/ Abilities:
• Some familiarity with produce (quality expectations, varieties, case packs) desired. English/Spanish bi-lingual skills useful.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Able to stand and work on feet for an extended period of time in a cool, damp environment.
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
