Job Overview:

The Associate Packaging Manager supports packaging development for new product launches and brand redesigns by coordinating timelines, tracking production art, and facilitating collaboration across creative teams, agencies, and suppliers. The role helps move packaging from concept through final production while ensuring deliverables meet brand, regulatory, and Dprint requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

·       Project Management and Execution 
Support packaging projects including launches, redesigns, line extensions, and maintenance. Track milestones, coordinate reviews, and ensure production art progresses from creative handoff through final approval.

·       Cross Functional Communication 
Coordinate with marketing, creative, regulatory, suppliers, and agencies to maintain timelines, communicate status, and escalate risks or issues.

·       Workflow and Process Support 
Maintain project trackers, labeling documentation, vendor guides, and packaging standards. Support process improvements that reduce errors and improve speed to market.

·       Production Art and Deliverables 
Support design extensions across packaging formats and substrates. Verify files meet brand, regulatory, and print production requirements prior to release.

Additional Responsibilities

·       Support packaging photo shoots including sample coordination and asset tracking

·       Maintain image asset libraries and ensure finished packaging photography is current in Syndigo or related systems

·       Provide light design and production support as needed

·       Stay informed on packaging design, print production, and technology trends

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education / Certifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in design, packaging, marketing, or related field required

·       Relevant packaging or print production coursework preferred

Experience

·       3 to 4 years experience in packaging, design production, or CPG brand environments

·       Experience working with packaging agencies, printers, or suppliers preferred

·       Exposure to production art workflows and labeling requirements preferred

·       Experience managing multiple projects and timelines

·       Familiarity with asset management systems preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

·       Foundational understanding of packaging design, print production, and cost considerations

·       Strong organizational and project coordination skills

·       Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment

·       Attention to detail with problem solving mindset

·       Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred

·       Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

·       This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

Travel (minor):

·       This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
