Job Overview:
To complete a variety of specialized duties that support functional operations in UNFI International. Works with the International team and customers to assist with order processing, communication with vendors, customers, the warehouse team, and freight forwarders. Provides recurring reports and develops ad hoc reports needed to monitor company and customer businesses.
Job Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
Responsible for effectively supporting international sales teams and customers through direct customer support by growing relationships with smaller accounts in specific markets.
Maintain customer service levels by timely order processing, invoicing and document reviews.
Assists with export documentation and obtains necessary certificates and filings.
Prepares order estimates with dating and follows through with all requested changes.
Works closely on routing and freight forwarders to ensure smooth delivery of all international orders.
Responds to requests from Category Director, Division Manager or Vendors and makes sales calls on potential new or current items with potential sales in a specific area.
Advise the department management of any delays, problems and/or question any irregularities discovered within assigned transactions.
Assist with customer claim processing and disposition.
Capable of using Excel for intermediate-level data manipulation, including conditional formatting, lookup functions, and PivotTables.
Experienced in managing and organizing documents using SharePoint.
Provide support to managers and team, assisting in daily office needs
Responds to inquiries in area of responsibility
Collects data/information for department use in special projects or reports
Updates information and reports typically on the computer
Checks information for accuracy
Prepares and balances data
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
1-2 years related experience and/or training
Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities
Ability to analyze customer department and determine sales opportunities
Ability to prioritize to meet objectives
Motivated and self-starter
Good oral, written and technical communication skills
Good customer relations and diplomacy
Good negotiation, organization and planning skills
Professionalism
Excellent presentation skills
Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Work Environment:
Remote Role:
This position is classified as remote, where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
Travel (minor):
This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Incumbents may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
