Position: Outside Sales Representative

Job Type: Full Time Contract (6 months)

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Language Requirements: French/English

Location and Territory: Quebec City, QC

Purpose:

To cover designated territory developing potential customers and maintaining existing customers at projected sales levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Time and territory management to accomplish daily, weekly and monthly sales goals including defining market demographics, competitor analysis, prospecting new business and existing account knowledge.
  • Participate with UNFI Sales team to effectively maintain existing accounts, develop new business and address operational issues.
  • Provide accurate and complete sales reports to Sales Manager in a timely manner.
  • Submit appropriate and timely account information for all new and existing accounts for input into the UNFI information system.
  • Participate in continuing education programs regarding company products, services and industry compliances.
  • Employee discount program on natural and organic foods!
  • Document and resolve customer complaints.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Post-Secondary Education and/or equivalent related experience and training.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or equivalent.

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Sales
  • Understanding of related computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

Experience:

  • Previous sales experience preferred
  • Previous experience in organic/natural Consumer Packaged Goods sales is an asset

Skills & Abilities:

  • Good, working proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Goal oriented self-starter with high energy level and competitive spirit
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned area

Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
