Purpose:
The Regional Routing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day routing operations of the regional routing team. The position will analyze past and current routing to develop efficient and cost-effective routing solutions utilizing UNFI’s routing system (RoadNet)
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure customer profiles in RoadNet, Trimble and WMS (UBS, WBS, and Manhattan) are maintained.
- Performs post route analysis and compares RoadNet plan to actual, using the results as the basis for coaching sessions with drivers.
- Interact with DC leadership to discuss driver comments and delivery variance information.
- Work with IBL team to find and transition cost efficient freight from carrier to backhaul.
- Track implementation and expense benefit.
- Work with Route Planner II on reroute projects, implementation, driver bid, KPI and expense reduction tracking.
- Track and analyze results and provide savings to Regionalized Routing Manager.
- Supervise assigned staff in the performance of their duties including scheduling, training and development. Ensure employees are performing their duties in a timely and accurate manner.
- Establish and maintain shift schedules.
- Ensure accurate training for all team members.
- Backup for daily Planner I & Planner II responsibilities.
- Performs other job duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Business or related field
Experience:
- 4 or more years transportation experience with strong background in routing preferably in a multiple stop dispatch operation
- Transportation experience preferred
Knowledge:
- Excellent working knowledge of RoadNet
- Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations
Skills/ Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Must be able to adapt and change to business shifts
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
