Job Title: Customer Service Clerk Department: Front End
General Job Description: To assist in monitoring and maintaining accurate and efficient front-end functions and perform cashiering duties as required ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
· Primary emphasis in this position is to assist in the supervision of the front end and perform cashier functions. Position follows front end checkout procedures in all transactions, maintaining positive customer relations and expedient processing of all orders.
· Position assists in supervises the front-end policies and procedures, cashier performance, labor control and customer relations. This position requires on-going customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous and accurate service, social skills/verbal interaction, judgment/decision making, register/scanner operation, reading, lifting, and standing. Position functions and work hours vary according to business needs. Assignments and work direction provided by Customer Service Manager or person in charge.
Essential Job Functions:
An individual must possess the abilities to perform these essential job functions:
- Distinguishing currency denominations.
- Communicating effectively with others.
- Performing the basic math calculations.
- Mentally calculating monies.

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
