Job Overview:

Responsible for the development and implementation of standard operating practices and processes that align with and support minimum performance expectations. Supports DC operations front line leadership to ensure knowledge and understanding of proper and consistent standards application processes. Resolve LM issues via collaboration between LM vendor(s), UNFI IT, and Process Excellence Engineering Team.

Job Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilitie:

·       Utilize a standardized approach to Labor Management Systems (LMS and LMS Engineered Labor Standard (ELS) maintenance.

·       Responsible for LMS design, configuration, and testing.

·       Perform LMS system integration testing, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to achieve the desired results.

·       Support LMS in accordance with documented SOPs/PWIs.

·       Improve and monitor reporting accuracy for ELS reports and dashboards, i.e. SCI, Power BI, Databricks

·       Leads engineering projects related to LMS, process improvement, and re-engineering.

·       Provide quality training to Operations leadership relative to Labor Management.

·       Train Industrial/Process Engineers to become subject matter experts in UNFI’s multiple LMS.

·       Partner with DC leadership to implement process improvement opportunities and update SOPs & PWIs as necessary.

·       Support labor model by conducting or leading in-depth analysis, including time study, engineered standards, work measurement, evaluate layouts, and develop innovative ways to resolve issues.

·       Maintain accuracy of DC layout utilizing AutoCAD.

·       Identify operational bottlenecks and develop, analyze, and present solutions for improvement.

·       Assist in the development and implementation of Engineering Labor Standards to continually improve LMS and performance reporting. Document all required ELS modifications and/or design in UNFI LMS

·       Record processes related to LMS conversions and upgrades through tool creation and SOPs

·       Review of current standards in operating DCs for accuracy

·       Accurately adjust standards to reflect process changes and improvements

·       Engage associates for feedback on current functions and opportunity areas

·       Identify system and interface opportunities to ensure timely and accurate performance calculation

·       Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline or 0-3 years commensurate experience

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

·       Prefer SQL, Java experience and database knowledge

·       Prefer experience with PowerBI, Databricks, or other reporting tools

·       Prefer experience in MOST and MSD multi-functional standards development, implementation, and maintenance.

·       Proven experience and ability to work within multiple warehouse management systems and effectively identify and eliminate system-oriented obstacles to ensure a fair, reasonable, and accurate standard.

·       Proven experience and ability to work across cross-functional teams.

·       Ability to work effectively and collectively in a team environment.

·       Excellent communication and engagement skills.

·       High competency in Microsoft Office applications.

·       Ability to work with Operations leaders and Process Training and Support team to effectively engineer standards based on best processes and practices.

·       Critically think and resolve issues through outside-of-the-box ideas.

·       Travel to DCs on an as needed basis.

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

·       This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

·       This position requires the associate to travel up to 50% to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

Physical Environment/Demands:

·       Up to 50% travel will be required.

·       80% of work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

·       20% of work is exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation.

·       While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk behind powered industrial equipment, and stand for long periods of time.

·       Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday.

·       Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
