This position is located in Stillwater, Minnesota. This role is Hybrid with 3 days per week on site in Stillwater, MN, and 2 remote days.  

JOB OVERVIEW

The Finance Manager will serve as a key financial partner to support store operations. This role will be responsible for understanding and analyzing store operating costs, labor and benefits, shrink (i.e. scrap), and store profitability. This position will be responsible for managing the capital forecasting process for the business. The manager will be responsible for forecasting, setting budgets, tracking actuals, and performing basic variance analysis. The manager will assist the store operations team in finding ways to decrease costs by understanding how to structure and drive labor and overhead cost programs and, with others, measure and manage store shrink costs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares and reviews accurate and timely financial and business-related analyses, research, and forecasts.
  • Performs advanced trend and variance analyses - incorporates data from different areas and synthesizes.
  • Findings incorporate cross functional impacts, trends, and industry news. Translates findings into process improvements.
  • Responsible for weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and updates to management team. Maintenance of KPIs for assigned area.
  • Provides insights into the performance of the business and translates findings into potential action plans for area supported.
  • Completes a variety of financial evaluation research and analysis activities requiring the compilation of data and information from a variety of sources both internally and externally.
  • Presents results of research and analysis to management.
  • Provides key support to the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting of the assigned business area including variance analysis and sensitivity testing.
  • Plays leadership role in critical planning and analysis processes. Help set policy, processes, and controls.
  • Develop and implement scalable financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Develop and manage reports that provide key insights for the Retail leadership team and Retail Operations leaders.
  • Support the monthly close reporting process including analysis, consolidation and P&L reporting down to store level.
  • Analyze, question and present financial information to the Retail leadership team.
  • Execute on special projects timely and accurately as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, a related field, or equivalent experience is required.

Experience: 

  • 5-10 years of relevant finance and FP&A experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience directly supporting an operational leader.
  • Leadership experience in finance roles within retail, grocery, or related industries.

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), financial reporting tools (e.g., Essbase), and dashboarding platforms (e.g., Tableau).
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to work through ambiguity.
  • Strong communication and business partnering capabilities.
  • Adaptability and resilience in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • High technical acumen and comfort working with incomplete or unstructured data.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

WORK ENVIORNMENT

Hybrid Role: 

  • This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office () days per week. The acceptable split between onsite
    and remote work is determined by the manager. Hybrid associates may choose to work from an office on a more
    frequent basis than required.

Travel (minor):

  • This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for
    specific meetings or other business reasons.

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbents may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
