Job Overview:
Partner with assigned customers to ensure they have the right products at the right time in the right placement.
Job Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
· Order products that align with the needs of the customer.
· Responsible for effectively displaying store products.
· Responsible for maintaining effective business relationships with customers.
· Responsible for daily travel to customer locations.
· Responsible for arriving promptly at customer locations on assigned routes for service.
· Responsible for rotating stock and removing out-of-code products.
· Process merchandise returns and issue credits according to company policy.
· Ensure the neat and orderly appearance of UNFI products.
· Responsible for product and/or delivery notifications to customers.
· Sell promotional and sales programs as assigned.
· Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for the location.
· Follow through on customer product requests.
· Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
· Attend meetings as required.
· Provides backup for other field sales representatives when needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
· Valid driver's license necessary
· Auto insurance levels that meet UNFI requirements
Experience:
· Prior customer service experience in a retail setting
· System implementation preferred
Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities
· Excellent customer service skills
· Good communication skills
· Time management skills and attention to detail
· Basic math abilities
· Ability to work independently
· Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Work Environment:
Travel (major):
· Weekly travel is required for this position.
Physical Environment/Demands:
· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
· Daily travel is required and access to a vehicle is necessary
· Ability to get in and out of the car multiple times per day
· Drive to and from accounts safely in city, rural, and expressway conditions
· Ability to set up displays, fixtures, shelving, and products
· Able to tolerate exposure to store and warehouse conditions including wide variances in temperature, dust, and dirt
· Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
· Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
· Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and occasionally in high places to perform job duties.

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
