Job Overview:
The HR Program Delivery Project Manager leads cross-functional HR projects and initiatives that advance the HR strategy. This role ensures delivery on time, within scope and budget, and with measurable results. Partnering closely with stakeholders across HR and the business, the Project Manager plans, executes, and tracks initiatives that improve processes, systems, and associate experiences. They communicate project status, manage expectations, and ensure high-quality, sustainable outcomes. Additionally, this role helps embed LEAN thinking and continuous improvement across HR to drive consistency, efficiency, and value.
Job Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional HR projects and initiatives end-to-end, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Apply LEAN principles and project management methodologies to drive process improvement, efficiency, and value delivery.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating as appropriate to ensure quality outcomes.
- Communicate project status, progress, and outcomes clearly and consistently to stakeholders, sponsors, and leadership.
- Coordinate and guide project teams to achieve agreed objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, current, and properly maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support HR Program strategy and maintenance
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships and negotiate with stakeholders or vendors to secure necessary resources and support.
- Continuously assess and refine project management practices to strengthen consistency and effectiveness across HR.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and LEAN thinking within HR teams and projects.
- Responsible for the delivery of portfolio sharing within HR
- Plans, designs, and delivers documentation and communications to maintain the HR Brand
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent professional business experience
- PMP Certification and/or prior experience with various methodology of project management
Experience:
- 5 years of program, project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:
- Ability working in project management software
- Ability to analyze situations and evaluate the best solution to solve problems
- Collaborative work style.
- Builds strong working relationships across HR and business teams; able to coordinate and influence without authority.
- Demonstrated project management and implementation success.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to multi-task and arbitrate between conflicting priorities with clear target setting and follow-through capability in a fast-paced work environment.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with reporting teams, stakeholders, and executives.
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Work Environment:
Remote Role:
- This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
Travel (minor):
- This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
