POSITION PURPOSE:
The facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing routine and advanced building maintenance tasks (e., g., mechanical, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing. Etc. Performs general cleaning and other tasks assign.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs facilities mechanical components
and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating
procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer’s specification, and
safety policies. Following federal, state, and local laws/regulations on
an advance level using root cause analysis and critical thinking while
dynamically shifting workload to adjust to rapidly changing priorities. - Safely operate material handling equipment (MHE) and scissor lifts in a
distribution center environment. - Knowledge and policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of
hazardous materials. - Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies
as required - Occasional working of flexible hours is required and on call in rare occasions.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- 2-4 years of on the job experience
- 2-4 years of facility service, including overhead doors, industrial racking, drywall repair, plumbing repair and HVAC
- Understanding of Safety guidelines.
- Able to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals.
- Knowledge, maintenance, repair experience with both pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Two years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment.
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Able to cooperate and communicate well with others.
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Able to use various hand tools (Voltmeter, wrench, ratchet, etc.)
- Must have own tools

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
