Job Overview:
Responsible for Supervising the shipping/receiving functions of all outgoing/incoming products from the warehouse. Leads and controls activities of company warehouse personnel. Front line supervision is an extremely important function for the company, positive interaction with the employees is critical as this ensures getting work out on time, efficiently, and accurately. Ensures shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution are performed in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports. Conducts Warehouse operations in accordance with established procedures and policies and keeps management informed of Warehouse activities. Completes miscellaneous support functions and supports area personnel as required
Job Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
· Provides direction and proper motivation to leads and line employees to ensure the daily workload is completed in an efficient and cost effective manner.
· Maintains a positive presence on the floor throughout the shift.
· Supervises all warehouse functions.
· Completes appropriate paperwork and reports as required.
· Provides new hire and follow- up training for all employees.
· Performs job evaluations and communicates results to employees.
· Evaluates work performance of personnel regarding promotions, absenteeism, commendations and disciplinary action.
· Communicates with other members of management and departments to ensure that goals are accomplished.
Additional Responsibilities
· Maintains a safe, clean work environment. Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and regulations regarding fire and other potential emergencies.
· Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location

Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
· Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
· Three or more years of progressive related experience.
· Basic knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures and policies.
· Understanding of required computer applications.
Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities
· Excellent leadership abilities.
· Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities.
· Strong problem solving skills
· Able to use all related maintenance equipment and computer applications.
· Attentive to detail.
· Good communication and public relations skills.
· Able to operate PC and use Microsoft Office Applications: Word and Excel
· Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Work Environment:
Onsite Role:
· This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.
Travel (minor):
· This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.
Physical Environment/Demands:
· Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
· Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
· Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
· Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
· Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
· Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation.
· Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
· Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
· Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
· Woodstock Farms: Ability to work in an environment containing tree nuts, peanuts, soy, wheat, sesame, milk and different spices like pepper, chili, etc.

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
