Produce Clerk will stock, rotate and face product, cut, sort produce deliveries, build displays as required to ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers 

NATURE AND SCOPE 

Primary emphasis in this position is on meeting daily needs in stocking, load cutting, sorting and display building, product availability and provide high level of customer service. The primary challenge is to acquire necessary production speed in cutting, sorting and stocking and product knowledge. This position requires ongoing interaction with customers, judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, walking, moderate to heavy lifting, and operation of pallet jack and box cutter.  Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs.  Assignments and work direction are provided by the Produce Manager or person in charge. 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Assist customers  

  • Perform stocking as assigned 

  • Perform cutting, wrapping and prepares greens 

  • Receive product, unload trucks and sort produce loads as assigned  

  • Build displays and perform reset as assigned 

  • Assist in completing produce order as assigned 

  • Perform clean-up of sales floor and back room as necessary 

Job Requirements 

  • lifting/carrying to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling to 50 force lbs. 

  • reaching, standing, turning, walking, stooping/bending, equipment operation (fork lift, pallet jack, carts, box cutter, baler) 

*Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
