Our Mission:
Our UNFI Olglesby, IL Distribution Center is looking for a warehouse sanitation associate to keep America stocked with natural and organic foods for the grocery stores and supermarkets! Our retailers range from small family owned stores to Whole Foods Market and everything in between. We are seeking individuals with warehouse sanitation experience ready to show their passion helping nourish families across America.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Primary responsibility is cleaning of the distribution center (75% of duties). Perform routine cleaning including vacuuming; sweeping, and mopping floors; dusting, washing walls, doors, and windows, and emptying trash. Perform minor preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Assist service personnel as needed. Reports major repair and maintenance needs. Assist with snow removal.

Schedule:
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 1pm - 9:30pm
Pay Rate:
- $17.25/HR
- Yearly raises
Premium/Shift Differentials:
- Weekend Shift Differential – A scheduled start time Friday 7PM through Sunday 7PM
- Overnight Shift Differential – A scheduled start time 3PM through 3AM
- +$1.25/hr for Evenings
- +$2.00/hr for Weekends
- +$2.00/hr for Freezer Environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Ensures that you have all of the needed janitorial equipment.
- Operates floor scrubber
- Sweeps and vacuums dock plates
- Sweeps and mop sanitation barriers
- Empties trash bins from all locations in the cooler, grocery and loading dock, offices and break areas.
- Empties cardboard and plastic recycling and compacts
- Keeps all areas free of debris such as wood fragments, pallet wrap, labels, and paper.
- Removes empty pallets and clean and mop slots
- Discards leaking product and records on the reconditioning log.
- Reports any violation of company policy to supervisor or lead.
- Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Understands Safety guidelines
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Understand procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.

Compensation:
UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
