Job Overview:

This position covers detailed knowledge in operating systems, operational tools, Networks, database management software and other similar systems support software. Focuses primarily on information and document requirements for data, workflow, logical process, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls and outputs.

Roles include network automation, infrastructure unification and modernization, data services and analytics, and digital offering. 

Job Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  •        Gathers and organizes information on problems or procedures.
  •        Analyzes data gathered and assists in developing solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  •        Confers with personnel concerned to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures.
  •        Develops and implements records management program for filing, protection, and retrieval of records
  •        Assures compliance with program.
  •        Reviews forms and reports, and confers with management and users about format, distribution, and purpose to identify problems and improvements.
  •        Documents findings of study and prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures or organizational changes.
  •        Prepares manuals and trains workers in use of new forms, reports, procedures or equipment, according to organizational policy.
  •        Designs, evaluates, recommends and approves changes of forms and reports.
  •        Enhanced planning skills required to conduct audits of information processing systems and applications to ensure accuracy of information and promote operational efficiency.
  •        Solid skills in constructing, refining and maintaining information models to meet business requirements.
  •        Establishes audit objectives and devise audit plans to ensure continued data integrity
  •        Provides technical support to other Technical Services departments and user organization on relevant technical issues.
  •        Performs testing of new or upgrades of the operating systems and system administrative software prior to implementing into the test and production environments.
  •        Maintains special assignments of a technical nature and to develop alternative solutions based upon independent analysis.
  •        Provides strong system administrative functions under the direction of a senior engineer.
  •        Interfaces with equipment and software vendors regarding the testing and support of their products.

 Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

  •        Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

 Experience:

  •        3-5 years relevant IT experience that includes complex implementations and project planning.
  •        3-5 years’ experience in CA7 & CA Workload Automation scheduling systems.
  •        3-5 years’ experience in change control systems.
  •        3-5 years’ experience in zOS operating system environment.

 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  •        Must have strong computer skills within stated area of engineering expertise and must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications.
  •        Advanced and expert level skills in CA7 & CA Workload Automation scheduling systems and Change.
  •        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams.
  •        Apply logical thought process and ability to learn new systems, concepts, and procedures.
  •        Ability to manage competing priorities.
  •        Demonstrate basic analytical and conceptual skills used to define technical needs and solve technical problems.
  •        Must be available to work on call rotation, off hours as required for 24/7/365 support.
  •        Ability to use judgment and understanding of the primary tools to produce desired and successful implementations.
  •        Ability to participate in project management and lead complex implementations.
  •        Ability to adapt and collaborate across teams.
  •        Root Cause Analytic skills.
  •        Ability to think broadly and provide thought leadership.
  •        Ability to manage work effectively and break down your own tasks.
  •        Advanced knowledge in scheduling systems.
  •        Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

 Work Environment:

Remote Role:

  •        This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
