Purpose:

As the Director of Commercial Pricing and Data Governance at UNFI, you are responsible for developing and executing the company's enterprise-wide pricing strategy while leading the Data Governance function. Your role is critical in driving commercial excellence, ensuring data integrity, and enabling informed business decisions across the organization.

In the area of pricing, your scope includes building and leading a centralized pricing department that will define, govern, and continuously improve UNFI Canada’s brand and customer pricing strategy. This role will move the organization toward a more disciplined pricing model, shifting pricing ownership away from Sales over time so that Sales can remain focused on customer relationships, execution of brand strategies, and commercial growth. You will immediately assume leadership of pricing activities currently managed within SRM and RGM, while developing the structure, tools, processes, resource requirements, governance model, and transition plan required to bring Sales pricing responsibilities into the pricing organization in the medium term. You will establish clear decision-making protocols, pricing guardrails, escalation processes, analytical capabilities, and best practices to support consistent, data-driven pricing decisions that improve margin performance, strengthen customer and supplier strategies, and deliver both immediate and long-term revenue value.

In the area of Data Governance, you will lead the Retalix Pricing, Retalix Maintenance, and MCB teams. You are accountable for ensuring data quality, governance, and integrity across Supplier Services, including pricing updates, GS1 data management, new brand onboarding information, and system master data maintenance. Your leadership will ensure that core data processes are effectively managed and aligned with business and operational requirements.

By partnering closely with cross-functional teams and senior leaders, you will enable the successful execution of UNFI's strategic priorities through the effective use of data and analytics. You will foster a culture of accountability, agility, and data-driven decision-making while ensuring alignment with UNFI's vision and objectives. Ultimately, your role is to drive sustainable revenue growth, improve profitability, and maximize the value of data as a strategic asset across the organization.
