Job Overview: 
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of AR Representatives and Specialists to ensure the timely and accurate collection of customer receivables, reduction of past-due balances, maintenance of customer accounts, and achievement of working capital objectives. This role oversees daily AR operations, drives process improvements, supports financial controls, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment issues and enhance cash flow performance.

Job Responsibilities: 
Core Responsibilities 

• Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop team. This includes conducting performance reviews, providing ongoing feedback and supporting career development. Monitor workload distribution and productivity. Foster a culture of accountability, customer service and continuous improvement.  
• Operations: Oversee collections activities to reduce delinquent accounts and improve DSO. Ensure timely application of cash receipts and resolution of unapplied cash. Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts. Manage customer credit holds through delegation of authority and escalation processes. Support customer account reconciliation and dispute resolution.  
• Financial Performance: Drive past-due reduction targets. Monitor KPI’s through regular reviews and analysis in accordance with established AR policies and procedures. 

• Process Improvement & Compliance: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and standardization. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements. Support system enhancements and transformation initiatives (e.g., SAP, HighRadius). Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.

Additional Responsibilities  

• Assist the manager in decision making, problem solving, creating consistent processes, performance reviews and reducing company’s overall receivable balance. 
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Treasury, and Operations teams. 
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
   

Job Requirements: 
Education/ Certifications:  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience:  

• 5+ years of Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, or Finance experience.
• 1-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience working in large ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, HighRadius, etc.).
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years’ experience in large multi-faceted organization or equivalent Accounts Receivable experience

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:

• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, identify what needs to be done, has initiative and commitment to see project to completion.  
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of AR best practices, credit management, and financial controls.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
   

Work Environment: 

• Remote Role: This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
