Job Overview:

Responsible for planning, performing, and reporting on components of varying complexity IT audits. Working on assigned audit projects within Technical Services (TS) not limited to applications, IT control processes, change control management procedures, security, networks, and computer and data center operations. Perform assigned portions of IT audit programs, determine compliance with policies and procedures, recommend corrective action, and prepare findings. Perform audit reviews and services in accordance with professional and department standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs moderately complex IT audits, which may include planning, risk analysis, and testing to assess Technical Services (TS) production environments for potential system integrity exposure and control weaknesses in accordance with appropriate professional and department standards.
  • Develops IT audit work programs to apply company policy and procedures to identify various risks (e.g., security, financial, operational, compliance) to the organization and make recommendations for corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Understands and prioritizes work according to TS department time and resource constraints.
  • Obtains buy-in and ownership from TS department for observations
  • Works with Internal Audit, TS department management and staff to identify feasible resolutions to control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
  • Completes IT audit projects and reports findings to IT audit management in accordance with approved audit programs within budgeted time-frames.
  • Tracks and reports time spent on administrative and project related tasks.
  • Provides assistance to external auditors under supervision of department management.
  • Participates in discussions with management regarding TS processes and noted control weaknesses and assists in the development and preparation of recommendations to improve information system practices and controls.
  • Must remain current with professional skills and knowledge of emerging IT trends (e.g. Cybersecurity).
  • Apply and uphold the Principles and Rules of Conduct described in the IIA Code of Ethics.
  • Pursues development of technical skills and competencies to carry out responsibilities effectively

  • Evaluates and prioritizes work according to TS department time and resource constraints.
  • Performs and documents internal IT audit fieldwork in accordance with approved audit programs within budgeted time-frames.
  • Provides assistance to external auditors under guidance of department management.
  • Works with other audit groups as assigned by department management.
  • Tracks and reports time spent on administrative and project related tasks.
  • Participates in TS and internal audit department meetings and assists with internal audit department initiatives as assigned.
  • Attends internal and/or external training programs and performs self-training to become familiar with assigned project areas as necessary.
  • Must continue to develop professional skills and knowledge of emerging IT trends (e.g. Cybersecurity).

Job Requirements:

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field is preferred.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred.
  • Expectation to begin working toward an entry level IT audit related certification.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in related field is required
  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support, auditing, or related field is preferred. IT Intern experience is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:

  • A general knowledge of IT processes and controls is required.
  • Must possess general knowledge of servers/systems, application development, networking and telecommunications, databases, and security operations.
  • A general knowledge of Company operations is helpful.
  • Must be capable of conducting audit assignments as required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high degree of personal integrity, attention to detail and strong investigative skills.
  • Requires analytical and communications skills to understand TS business objectives, evaluate risks and controls and accurately document and support work performed and conclusions reached.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

  • This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

Travel (15-20%):

  • This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.
