Job Overview:
The Vice President of Pharmacy Operations is a senior executive role responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the pharmacy. This position ensures the effective management of all pharmacy operations across 80+ stores, central fill, and specialty pharmacy functions. The VP will drive growth, manage financial performance, and uphold regulatory compliance, while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the division.

Job Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities

·         Develop and implement long and short-term strategic plans for the pharmacy division to align with corporate objectives and drive growth.

·         Oversee daily operations of all pharmacy locations and central fill, ensuring efficient resource utilization and meeting sales and profit targets.

·         Manage the division’s budget and overall financial performance, including full P&L responsibility. Analyze financial results and adjust strategies to achieve goals.

·         Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Assess and mitigate risks to sustain operational excellence and growth.

·         Supervise pharmacy district managers and office managerial roles, building and maintaining effective teams to support organizational growth and development.

·         Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws and healthcare regulations for operations in MN and IL. Represent the organization in industry and regulatory forums.

Additional Responsibilities

·         Lead the development and execution of brand and marketing strategies for the pharmacy division. Ensure alignment with corporate standards and responsiveness to market trends.

·         Build and maintain relationships with franchise pharmacy partners and other key stakeholders to enhance collaboration and strategic alignment.

·         Oversee the projection process and make adjustments based on performance evaluations to achieve desired sales, gross margin, and labor goals.

·         Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to identify opportunities for enhancing division programs and maintaining a competitive edge.

·         Work with senior management to provide feedback on store designs, prototypes, and remodels.

·         Collaborate on the development and implementation of corporate programs.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:

·         Degree in Pharmacy, Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field required.

·         Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly desired.

Experience:

·         Minimum of 15 years of direct retail pharmacy experience with a proven track record in managing pharmacy operations.

·         Demonstrated success in achieving financial targets and managing budgets.
Experience in overseeing multi-location pharmacy operations.

·         Proven leadership experience in developing and managing high-performance teams.

·         In-depth knowledge of pharmacy regulations and compliance requirements.

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:

·         Strong strategic planning and financial management skills.

·         Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.

·         Deep understanding of pharmacy operations, marketing, and brand management.

·         Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders.

·         Ability to analyze industry trends and competitor activities to drive innovation and operational improvements.

·         Good judgement is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:
Hybrid Role:
This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office (TBD) days per week. The acceptable split between onsite and remote work is determined by the manager. Hybrid associates may choose to work from an office on a more frequent basis than required.

Travel:
This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.
