Cub Chanhassen is looking for dedicated individuals to fill part time positions as a pharmacy technician!

As a team member at Cub, you will:

  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
  • Answer the department telephone promptly when called upon, and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.

This position requires weekend availability.

Job Requirements:   

  • The position requires on-going customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous and accurate service.
  • This position requires on going social skills/verbal interaction, register/scanner operation, reading, light lifting / carrying to 50 pounds and standing.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
  • Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs.
  • Have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing.
  • Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be 16 years of age and older.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

·         Assists the pharmacist in filling prescriptions

o    - Verifies and gathers needed demographic and insurance information for written prescriptions received

o    - Contacts prescribers for refill authorization

o    - Inputs prescription code and customer data into computer, prints labels

o    - Maintains sales records

o    - Ensures confidentiality of records

o    - Maintains knowledge of drug names

o    - Fills out insurance forms when necessary for customer

o    - Assists with measuring dosages and labeling containers

o    - Order, check-in and stock prescription medications

o    - Process prescription returns

·         Responsible for accurately processing customers’ orders through ensuring price accuracy and product knowledge

o    - Follows proper currency handling and cash register procedures

o    - Notifies Pricing Coordinator of department price discrepancies

o    - Maintains familiarity with all product, product location and bottle location

·         Ensures positive customer relations

o    - Properly greets and thanks customers

o    - Provides prompt and courteous service

o    - Assists customers with product location, questions and refers to Pharmacist as discrepancies

·         Hazardous drug handling

o    Complies with standard operating procedures in handling and dispensing of hazardous drugs

·         Performs department receiving and stocking

o    - Fills, rotates and straightens shelf stock

o    - Properly maintains ends and displays

o    - Pulls back stock

o    - Verifies invoices with product received and fills necessary paperwork for

·         Miscellaneous responsibilities include:

o    -Assists in ordering

o    -Pulls bottles of drugs for Pharmacists to fill prescriptions

o    -Organizes and cleans

-Maintains Board of Pharmacy regulations

Job Requirements

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·         Ability to communicate through two-way verbal and written communication (speech, hearing and writing).

·         Ability to operate and use as needed various office equipment (personal computer, telephone, fax).

·         Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings.

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

·         Ability to write and see things in close proximity (reading distance).

·         Ability to comprehend written and verbal communication.

·         Ability to read/ view computer screens for extensive periods of time.

·         Good judgement is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
