POSITION PURPOSE:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for quality control process upon receipt of product, during production and roasting and product selected for shipment. Responsible to ensuring the facility is clean and good working order.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Supervise and direct quality control team, perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage personal, including.
• Maintain a qualified staff
• Communicate areas of responsibility
• Conduct timely and effective employee evaluations
• Ensure proper training of employees
• Ensure all tools needed to perform tasks are provided to the employee
• Review finished product documentation and finished product retained samples for accuracy
• Inspect incoming product, working with Receiving, as product is unloaded from trucks
• Perform detailed quality inspections on all product and packaging to ensure product/packaging meets our specifications.
• Review Certificate of Analysis for all incoming products
• Release and Approve products after all receiving guidelines have been met

• Perform all in-house microbiology testing
• Set and process Salmonella Testing
• Perform environmental swabbing on a weekly basis throughout the entire facility and process tests.
• Test finished product per customer requests
• Write Certificate of Analysis for outgoing products/customers
• Supervise and direct Sanitation team, perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage personal, including.
• Maintain qualified staff
• Communicate areas of responsibility
• Ensure proper training

• Perform Kosher, Organic, and Non-GMO Yearly inspections
• Apply for any items that require kosher certification and relay information to sales and purchasing departments.
• Apply and monitor the Organic certification and relay information to sales and purchasing departments.
• Apply and monitor the Non-GMO project certifications
• Responsible for following and ensuring Quality Team performs in accordance with HACCP and Safe
• Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
• Complete required SQF paperwork as prescribed in the policy
• Enforce GMP’s throughout the facility

• Observe all safety policies and procedures.
• Lead and serve as a role model for others in the organization by consistent demonstration of high ethical standards.
• Performs other job duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS degree in related field, or equivalent training and experience. Minimum of 5+ years related Quality Control Experience; HACCP and SQF Certified and a working knowledge of microbiology.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• HACCP Certified
• SQF Certified

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ year experience in the Food Manufacturing
• 2 years supervisory experience
• System implementation experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE:

• Must have a working knowledge of quality management practices.
• Must have worked in a food manufacturing facility

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of micro testing
• Knowledge of a food manufacturing operations
• Knowledge of SQF/FDA regulations
• 2 years of Supervisory experience
