Job Overview:

The purpose of this position within the retailer and supplier marketing department is to support the continuous improvement of UNFI marketing programs and materials, projects, plans and strategies by developing and executing original content and concepts for digital marketing and design. Support and increase supplier/retailer participation and help SM team meet revenue and expense goals for UNFI marketing programs. Materials produced include catalogs, pricelists, circulars, sell sheets, print ads, web ads, email campaigns, presentations, landing pages, social media, and others as assigned.

Job Responsibilities: 

70%:

• Creates original content for retail or consumer facing in 

  digital publications focusing on topics such as new products, 

  promotions, trends, category management, sustainable agriculture, 

  UNFI news, and supplier profiles.

• Creates and publishes content on social media accounts.

• Creates and designs consumer facing digital and electronic publications.

• Supports email marketing campaigns to promote products and services 

  via digital, email, and web ads through setup, maintenance, and 

  reporting.

15%:

• Communicates with suppliers and/or retailers to educate and 

  encourage participation growth in assigned programs.

• Prepares billing for assigned programs, accurately and timely. Resolves 

  problems related to assigned billings.

 10%:

• Maintains contact lists and increases email database.

• Develops concepts and strategies; and establishes processes for new 

  marketing programs.

• Conducts market research and analyzes trends to identify new 

  marketing opportunities.

• Analyzes and reports on the performance and efficiency of assigned 

  marketing programs.

• Establishes and maintains effective communication, coordinates, and 

  manages working relations with internal and external customers 

  (graphic designers, media brokers, printers, suppliers, production partners, contractors, etc.).

 5%:

• Meets projected revenue goals for supplier and/or retailer fees; as well 

  as expense goals for assigned programs.

• Provides trade show support and attendance as needed.

• Performs other relevant job duties as needed.

Job Requirements: 

Education/ Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

Experience:

• Three or more years of experience in a related field

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Thorough understanding of Company products and services

• Strong understanding of marketing functions, procedures, and standards

• Strong knowledge and understanding of design software such as Adobe suite

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality

• Organizational and analytical skills

• Strong planning and problem-solving skills

• Able to successfully handle multiple concurrent projects

• Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to use related computer hardware and software applications

• Available for occasional travel

• Proficient in MS Office applications

• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available. 

 In addition to above, for Digital Roles:

• Knowledge of various marketing and analytics tools such as Mail Chimp, Google Analytics, and content management systems

• Email marketing preferred

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

• This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager. 

Travel (minor):

• This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
