Job Overview:
Primary responsibility is cleaning of the distribution center (75% of duties). Perform routine cleaning including vacuuming; sweeping and mopping floors; dusting, washing walls, doors, and windows, and emptying trash. Perform minor preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Assist service personnel as needed. Reports major repair and maintenance needs. Assist with snow removal.

The Warehouse Sanitation team is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the warehouse environment. This role involves routine cleaning of warehouse floors, shelves, restrooms, equipment, and other designated areas to ensure a safe, organized, and sanitary workspace. Workers in this team must follow health and safety protocols, manage cleaning supplies, and use equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers. Job Responsibilities: 
Core Responsibilities 
•    Ensures that location has all of the needed janitorial equipment
•    Operates floor scrubber
•    Sweeps and vacuums dock plates
•    Sweeps and mop sanitation barriers 
•    Empties trash bins from all locations in the cooler, grocery and loading dock, offices and break areas
•    Empties cardboard and plastic recycling and compacts
•    Keeps all areas free of debris such as wood fragments, pallet wrap, labels, and paper
•    Removes empty pallets and clean and mop slots
•    Discards leaking product and records on reconciliation log
•    Reports any violation of company policy to supervisor or lead
•    Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safety Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location
•    Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 
Experience: 
•    Warehouse/Operations/Manufacturing experience preferred 

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities
•    Understanding of Safety guidelines
•    Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and mop
•    Understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes
•    Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment: 
Onsite Role: 
•    This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.

Physical Environment/Demands: 
Warehouse Roles:
•     Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.   
•    Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation. 
•    Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.   
•    Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.   
•    Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.  Ability to operate work-related equipment. 
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
•    Woodstock Farms: Ability to work in an environment containing tree nuts, peanuts, soy, wheat, sesame, milk and different spices like pepper, chili, etc.
